ISSUE #5
Promoting the circular economy
The definition of an ambitious R&D policy and the mobilization of all its stakeholders commit SIFCOR to circularity across its value chain. In 2024, more than half of the steel purchased came from recycling channels. The teams are in the loop too! Promoting innovation among employees supports the Group’s commitment to sharing, reusing, repairing, refurbishing and recycling products and materials for as long as possible.
Repairing the present to prepare for the future
In 2024, optimizing machining processes made it possible to save nearly 1,000 tons of steel, including 411 tons thanks to reducing saw blades.
ISSUE #6
Adopting a carbon pathway aligned with the Paris Agreement
In the face of global warming, SIFCOR is committed to controlling and mitigating its climate impact. Its Climate policy aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 30% by 2030 and contribute to achieving global carbon neutrality by 2050. Its environmental management approach, certified ISO 50001, includes 100% induction forging heating and more than 90% of steel purchased in Europe, with delivery by full truckloads.
Energy savings and waste recovery
- In 2024, modernizing the burners of heat-treatment furnaces reduced gas consumption by 15% to 30% across the Group’s sites.
- That same year, 92% of waste was recovered at Forges de Courcelles, above the industry average.
