The joint venture, created in 2017 in Dandong, Liaoning Province, China, D518C (Dandong 518 Courcelles Forging Co, Ltd.) is the result of the strategic partnership between Forges de Courcelles (45%) and Liaoning 518 (55%), a major Chinese player in the manufacture of crankshafts and high-power engine parts, for all dimensions and all business sectors.
D518C generates annual revenue of around €5 million and processes nearly 4,500 tonnes of steel. It is now expanding into the automotive vehicle hybridization market, a fast-growing sector in China.
Specializing in precision hot forging of automotive crankshafts, heavy-duty truck connecting rods and other forged components, D518C benefits from the transfer of advanced technologies from Forges de Courcelles in the field of robotics and automation for mechanical press manufacturing.
Fully integrated within an exceptional industrial site, forging everything from automotive crankshafts to marine or stationary engine crankshafts over 12 m long, D518C benefits from the technical support, infrastructure and services of its majority shareholder for tooling manufacturing, design and maintenance. It can complement its raw forging offering with heat treatment, special finishing, machining and assembly operations, all on the same site.
The Liaoning 518 group continues its large-scale industrial expansion through massive investments that enhance its manufacturing capabilities: counterblow hammers, mechanical presses, hydraulic presses, integrated truck crankshaft machining lines, large-scale crankshaft machining…
