Lionel

Plant Director

Discover his career path

I joined Forges de Courcelles on May 13, 1991, after my first experience in a company specializing in the design of highly automated special-purpose machines. Very quickly, my passion for design and construction was able to fully express itself in this new environment. When I arrived, the company was launching the installation of the first 6301 COFMO press: a project as demanding as it was exciting, where everything still had to be imagined, built, and learned.

I started as a General Methods Technician, responsible for equipment layout and process optimization. After becoming Methods Project Manager, I handled investments and specialized in the Finishing Workshops. In 2006, I took over the Methods department, encouraging closer collaboration with Maintenance for greater efficiency. My last major project in this role was the integration of the 8000T1 press into an operating plant, a major challenge.

The following year, I took responsibility for Forge and Finishing production in the Crankshafts division, contributing to the growth of new lines and presses. In 2016, the production workshops were brought together under a single entity and I was appointed Production Manager. In 2020, my responsibilities expanded to maintenance and logistics, leading to my appointment as Production Director. Finally, in 2025, I took over responsibility for the Forges de Courcelles plant following the retirement of the Managing Director.

If I have been able to grow within the company, it is above all thanks to the opportunities it offers to those who want to fully commit themselves. Motivation and passion are essential, but you also have to love your company, respect your colleagues, and be committed to passing on know-how.

My greatest pride? Having contributed, in my own way, to the growth of our company. My best memory is undoubtedly the moment we forged our very first crankshaft. A symbolic milestone in this exceptional journey.

To new arrivals, I would say: if you are looking for much more than just a job, if you want to get involved, explore a wide variety of roles, and bring your ideas, then you are in the right place. Here, initiative is valued, and everyone can build a rewarding career path. We are a benchmark in our field, and it is with pride that we carry on this legacy while preparing for the future.
